Physical Therapy Video
I had to sort through the footage and I annoying found out that I had not set up the camera's colour setting correctly. So I had to put it into DaVinci Resolve to colour grade it. This is such great software which I have now found out is great for all cameras, not just the Black Magic. I have now learned to double-check the colour settings when setting up a camera, I also think it was set to Tungsten, I should have used Fluorescent.
This crazy chart shows the colour and lighting. A normal shot should have levels that are at a constant not up and down like in this. So even with the auto colour grading, I still had to adjust the brightness and use my colour wheel to adjust it further on Final Cut Pro.
I have labelled the issues with this shot. To solve the lighting issue I think it would be good to turn all the lights off in the room and set up two lowlights on either side and if it is too bright we can let in some natural light. The left is far too overexposed high shot so linking back to my previous point I will use the same lighting setup to resolve this issue. I could even attach an on-camera light above as part of 3 Point Lighting. To tidy up the shot I think it would be a good idea to use tape on the floor that will then be covered by the trainers, just to get a cleaner shot.
For the general edit and knowledge on what "she" is doing to the student so I can level the areas where she is massaging. This is the perfect shot because it records the whole session and is easily visible and audible for me to gather information.
This is a bit of a complicated process but I am used to it now after using it for years. These images of the left show the rendering process. The main issue with using this program it uses a lot of Memory which slows down my mac when I am editing different shots. I have learnt with this project the body is a bit tricky for render points for the text to stay motionless. To get around it I had to add points at the end of the video and work backwards.
Overall I think the shoot and edit went well. Considering we had only a day to look at the area sort out equipment and shoot it was a good challenge and lesson for pressured time shoots. I think there are some minor changes that we could have made with the set lighting and remembering to set up the cameras in the correct colour setting but with more time to check through all of the cameras, it will not be a problem again.
