My Business Plan
Executive Summary
My business will off short promotion videos as well as mini documentary’s to various clients. My main focus to date is environmental work and conservational. However those two types of business main be my main focus but is anything else comes up I will go for it. I will offer my service exclusively to kent at the moment however if anything comes up a bit further out I can travel around there south is if necessary. I chose the name Harry Adams Media because its an extension on ,my previous name for my photography, Harry Adams Photography. It may be simple however it short and memorable to my own name and suites my kind of brand. I have looked in to lost of companies like myself and they have a similar style of brand name. My main goal at the moment is to grow my business and my client base to get as many experience I can and to show different clients in the future to show my diverse film set so I can hopefully get the job promoting them. The time scale for this is mid term because it will take a few months to get going and build up a client base and from then I hope to have more of a Flow of clients. ​
Personal Background
I want to start my own business because I love creating my own videos and if I freelance I will be doing what I love on an almost daily basis. I have lots of experience in being on set for short films as well as promotional videos. As you can see on my portfolio have made lots of videos that have various genres. I do have training in lots of different equipment and skill, for I am a drone pilot so for those cinematic films and great areal shots for promotion videos it really is a great tool to have. I do only have one main hobby which is photography. I also put the photographs I take on instagram to promote my photography skills too. ​
Products & Services
I offer products such as promotion videos and short films. Services - I have lots of skills that I have collected over the years at north kent college as well as outside work. I can use a drone for beautiful external shot of places and tracking subjects at speed as well as working inside of a large building with a drone that creates a great cinematic look. They are worth they fee because my products are great. I have had reviews from the 6 clients I have worked for to date which gives me the confidence to go forward as well as being good look for me to future clients. ​
Customers, Clients, Audience
There are only a couple of people that are in the same business as media. My market at the moment is local business. The people that I tagged will take my offer because they mostly likely don’t have an advert or have an out of date one that doesn’t look good. I have had quite a few clients that had my services for free and those experiences are great to show future clients. I have a video lined top for Mercedes Benz and a documentary for The Four Spears. ​
Marketing Strategy
I will connect with my clients, this will be via instagram for my photography skills, TikTok for the behind the scenes of the projects that I work on. Then I will use YouTube for posting my projects and deepening of how well my main YouTube channel goes I will then create a second channel for behind the scene and promotions for my future projects. For all my clients I will have all my details on linked In for clients to contact me as well as for me to lookout for clients.
Competitor analysis
I have a few competitors in my area. Barney Finch is one that I have previously researched. Another freelancer that does pretty much the same things that I offer to clients and has the same social presence as myself. By using my SWOT analysis and PESTLE I have been able to analyse my competitors and the difference between us, positives and negatives.​
Logistical & Operations Analysis
Times and costs in typical productions. I have estimated that on average the projects that I will work on will take me about 8 hours per one depending on how big or small the project is. The cost of all this will come to £180 in total. If I do a documentary for a client hit swill end up costing even more because it will be longer and take more time top produce. The delivery and distribution for my products isn’t just like boreal products. Most projects will take me a week to produce few days to produce after the filming stage of the production. For distribution for the client I will ask them for their social media platforms they will use so I can adapt the edit for those if they wish. I have lots of equipment already but intend to purchase a couple more things for my business. At the moment I am working on my business from home and do not have an office space. For transport I have a car that I pretty reasonable to run and if I need to go into London for any reason I may just get the train to save money by paying congestion, parking and fuel changes going all the way there’re and back. For me health and safety is a big part of being a freelancer. I use a drone a lot for my work so it can be a danger to a lot of things, such as people, building or power poles. I also have insurance for the drone that is £10 annually.
